After a successful 2023 Telstra Best of Business Awards, which saw more than 20,000 businesses nominated, nominations have officially opened for the 2024 Telstra Best of Business Awards.
The long-running awards program provides a platform to champion the achievements of small businesses across the country, particularly their innovation and ingenuity that can inspire other budding entrepreneurs.
“The Telstra Best of Business Awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate the incredible standard of small and medium businesses in this country, and champion the stories and successes of business owners at a national level,” Brad Whitcomb, Telstra Group Executive for Consumer and Small Business, said. “The calibre of Australia’s small-business community is truly unmatched. The drive, passion and unrelenting efforts of small-business owners across our country is astonishing, and we’re looking forward to meeting, celebrating and championing this year’s nominees.”
The Telstra Best of Business Awards comprises seven categories which are celebrated at a state and national level. An overall Business of the Year will also be crowned as part of the National Awards. This year’s categories are:
- Accelerating women
- Building communities
- Championing health
- Embracing innovation
- Indigenous excellence
- Outstanding growth
- Promoting sustainability.
“The Awards process encouraged us to positively reflect on our business, allowing us to cement our purpose, celebrate our team’s successes and understand where we can continue to improve and thrive,” Andrew Dowding, Managing Director of Winyama Digital Solutions, the 2023 Business of the Year and Indigenous Excellence Winner, said. “It was an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling experience, and the national recognition and support we’ve received since winning has been remarkable.
“The Telstra Best of Business Awards gave us so much more than trophies – we’ve made lifelong connections with the other finalists, the Telstra team and judging panel and have been given an invaluable opportunity to represent our community,” Dowding added. “I strongly recommend other businesses to enter; you’ll walk away a winner regardless.”
All businesses in Australia with fewer than 200 employees are eligible for nomination.
