ASTN and etrainu launch e-learning modules for sportstech start-ups

Australian Sports Technologies Network (ASTN), the industry body for sports technology and innovation, and etrainu, a community education solutions provider, have come together to offer e-learning modules designed to benefit Australia’s emerging sportstech entrepreneurs.

The modules form part of the first course under the partnership’s SportsTech Startup Series, ASTN’s on-demand pre-accelerator program which provides sportstech start-ups with the opportunity to tap into an ecosystem of world-class industry-backed and endorsed content, from anywhere at any time.

The first course, Early-Stage Commercialisation, offers pre-accelerator e-learning modules for early-stage start-ups in the idea/concept phase, initial testing phase, or first MVP phase. The course is adapted from ASTN’s 10-week Early-Stage Pre-Accelerator Program that was launched in 2021 and is recognised as the first and only sportstech industry-specific program in Australia and the APAC region.

The Early-Stage Commercialisation course offers four hours of exclusive learning content over three modules which are: Cluster of Innovation; Research and Innovation; and Promoting, Leading and Financing. Participants will learn how to understand the cluster of innovation and validation required to help commercialise a start-up; recognise why some business models fail, mitigate the risk of starting a business, and understand the support systems required to turn an idea into a viable commercial entity.

“We’re looking forward to kicking off the first of many courses in ASTN’s Sportstech Startup Series,” Amy Crosland, Manager for Program Operations and Projects at ASTN, said. “Through the etrainu platform, more people will have the opportunity to start their sportstech innovation journey by tapping into world-class content, mentors, and industry connections. We encourage sports entrepreneurs from researchers and athletes to practitioners and corporates to enrol.

Cameron O’Riordan, VP of Sales at etrainu, pointed out that the The sports community is growing exponentially at the moment.

“We’re excited for our partnership with ASTN and the courses offered through the Sportstech Startup Series to help create education pathways for founders and leaders within the sports community,” O’Riordan said.
