Melbourne digital hub unveils new headquarters and tech week event

Cremorne Digital Hub (CDH) has officially unveiled its refurbished headquarters, envisioned to be a venue that will help foster connections and create opportunities for Victoria’s technology scale-ups.

Located in the heart of Victoria’s fast-growing Cremorne tech precinct, the facility aims to realise CDH’s mission to drive visibility and commercial success across the tech sector, while building industry capability to harness the full potential of technology driven by the most promising entrepreneurs in the state.

“Our mission is to supercharge Victoria’s digital ecosystem,” Cremorne Digital Hub CEO, Peter Osborne, said. “This innovative partnership model, coupled with our new headquarters, creates a dynamic environment where industry, academia, and innovators can seamlessly collaborate with the support of the Victorian Government.”

CDH recently launched the Cremorne Digital Hub Scaleup Program, which selected four promising digital companies to participate in a customised support and service offering to help them achieve growth milestones and attract investment opportunities. The program was enhanced by its synergy with Invest Victoria, which helped facilitate program participation.

“By having specific industry challenge areas at the forefront of what we do, and agreed on at the front end of the collaboration process, we improve the chances of scaled-up commercial adoption and can better map out future development pathways,” Osborne said.

CDH operates under a public-private model, fostering collaboration and commercial opportunities between venture capitalists such Artesian, established digital giants CAR Group and REA Group, Victoria’s prestigious education sector and talented entrepreneurs.

Minister for Jobs and Industry Natalie Hutchins commended CDH’s collaborative vision, saying, “(CDH) will equip our local talent with the resources and support they need to propel Victoria’s digital economy to new heights. We continue to see our digital technology sector strengthen and grow on all fronts, from skills and training to booming businesses and innovative entrepreneurs – and with this support it will continue to be one of our best performing sectors.”

The opening of the facility also coincided with CDH’s announcement of Cremorne Tech Week in October 2024, which will celebrate Cremorne’s local tech community while connecting it with broader regional and global landscapes.

Through an industry-led co-design approach, CDH says the program will showcase talent strengths, foster collaboration, and open up new opportunities for all. This building will serve as the central event hub for this pivotal week.

“Part of our role is to actively develop core capabilities to accelerate commercial pathways for high-growth ventures,” said Osborne.
